  1. Yes, I see. Not so good results here. Perhaps, you’d be better off with B&W conversion.
I was reading very positive results film photogs from Fuji forum are getting from this scanner. They mention about very skillful methods in using a software of this scanner.

    • Which forum is that? Getting a lot of variable opinions about epson, especially the software. Thing is that the scanner borks the film’s whitebalance completely, the image I study on the film and the scanned results are completely different so I have to fix that post processing in lightroom after the scan. But I guess I could have had some better results if I thinkered more with the scanner software. Will experiment some more, at least I got a lot of film now I can do that with! 🙂

      • I can’t point you to the specific forum(s), as I was reading about it over the extended period of time while researching for a scanner for myself. Also, I noticed strong bias towards scanning slides for better results. I’m not getting into film right away yet. I give it a time, let’s say, 2 years, and see what happens in technological development. Anyway, I think, medium format is the way in the future for me. I’ll see, how it goes. Now, I’m starting with the best quality vintage fully mechanical lenses I can get/afford. I’m looking out for Zeiss C/Y mount 35, 50, 85mm. all F/ 1.4 MMG primes to buy. Also 28/2.0 ‘Hollywood’ one. I need to try mechanical against electronic lenses from Fujinon.

        • Sounds good, Yogi. Getting into film is sort of a commitment both time wise and money wise (you need chemicals, equipment for darkroom, maybe some stuff for lightroom too and the camera itself). Let me know if you want my advice on anything, I’ll be happy to help!

Seems you got your hands full already with your current camera gear, sounds fun!

    • Interesting read, a pretty unorthodox approach to say the least. I’ll continue to try perfecting my scanner skills with my current setup though, but thanks for the link it was interesting as always!

Happy new year to you too Miki, may the new year brings a lot of interesting stuff infront of our primes for the both of us! 🙂
